i'm a huge printed trouser fan. i'm quite minimalistic in what i wear on my top half; we're talking plain jumpers, white tees, plain black leather jacket so printed trousers are how i like to jazz things up a little bit.
i love how they can be worn both day and night, and equally as workwear.
i've picked out my favourite three at the moment to share with you and hopefully you'll be able to help me decide which pair (or pairs) to go for.
first up are these gorgeous spotted ones by hobbs london c/o next. they retail at £140 and although that might be seen as a bit steep, i am a firm believer in you get what you pay for in terms of quality. i love the alternative polka dots, they're in little diamond clusters so they look a lot more grown up than all over polka dots that most trousers of the dot kind boast. i love how you could easily dress them up or down depending on what you fancied doing. there is also a dress in the same print which i've got my eye on so if i don't end up going for the trousers, the dress is most definitely a possibility.
ok, so second up are these silver tiled print jacquard cigarette trousers. they would provide a subtle take on the metallics trend and would again be perfect for both day and night wear. i love the cut of these trousers, they look like they'd be super flattering on. they have a really vintagey vibe about them too which i love. this pair is from topshop and cost £40.
the finally pair are a lot less subtle and are really quite 'out there' so i'd definitely only wear these with a plain white vest or something of the like. i can see them being a little too much for the night time but on a sunny day (hurry up summer) with said white vest and some little ballet pumps, i can see these being perfect. i remember when i was little, being absolutely fascinated with the print on china plates and this really reminds me of those patterns. they are actually called "china blue printed trousers" on the miss selfridge website so i suppose that they were bound to remind me of china plates anyway. they're currently in the sale for £17.
so, as you can imagine, i'm really torn. i adore all three prints and wish i had a never ending bank balance so i could get them all.
which are your favourites? have you seen any other pretty prints?
